Michael Brandon

I love Michael Brandon because I love him.  He's a good man but, honestly, I owe a lot to him also. 

I met Michael at a Pride here in Seattle years ago.  He was hanging out with our mutual friend, Mark "Mom" Finley and I went up to him and told him that I had seen one of his videos.  He was just as nice as he could be.  I told him that I reviewed a lot of videos and I would love it if he could send me one of his to review.  We exchanged contact information and the next thing ya know, an autographed copy of "SexPack Six:  Heavy Equipment" arrived in the mail.  Then others arrived.  And then others.  Next thing ya know, I was invited to a Premiere and I was on a plane, staying in a hotel and meeting all these people.  And there Michael would stand, always happy to see me.  We have kept in touch all these years and all these Premieres later. 

Now, I see him at IML in Chicago and Pride in San Francisco and various other places all around the country.  And Michael is always the same.  Always happy to see me and always willing to support me, no matter what.  Michael Brandon is a Star, no one can argue that, but he's also the sweetest man.  You can count on his word.  I like that in a man. 

He loves his fans.  He loves his work.

I know consider him a friend.  

After all this time, I finally approached him recently about a possible interview and he thought it would be a great idea.  I was honored.

Nappy:  First of all, I have to save that I adore you.  You are the nicest, sweetest, most genuine man I know.  Everyone who knows you says the same things about you.  And because of that anyone who knows you, loves you and would do anything for you.  Did you know that you’re one of the most respected men in the industry?  I love you.  Your fans love you.  Your co-stars love you. 

Michael:  Thank you!  That’s very kind!!  I’m just “me” Ron.  Just “me.”

N:  Some call you The Hardest Working Man In The Business.  You are always busy.  I’ve seen it myself, with my own eyes.

M:  As a teen, I started working with Taco Bell.  Scrubbing bean pots.  I know this may sound funny.  But, I had a passion for working with Taco Bell.  Out of all fast food restaurants, I felt Taco Bell was the most healthy.  We sliced, diced, fried, cooked and prepared the food fresh every day.  That passion had me in a management position in six months.  I know, I know, what folks are thinking.  Come on!  That’s Taco fucken Bell for Christ’s sake.  Let me tell you!  It was hard fucken work! 

Many years later, I have brought that passion to the adult industry. Starting out as a porn star/escort.  I found something I was good at and enjoyed very much.  Bringing smiles to people’s face’s.  Brought a smile to my own face.   I’m amazed by the amount of work that has gone into my career.  I shake my head sometimes.  Wondering, “Had I known how much damn work it would take to be a porn star.  Would I have embarked on this career?”  Monster says, “Hell yeah!”  I’ve never been one to shy away from work.    

N:  How long have you been making videos? 

M:  I did my first video in 1989, for a company called Inhand.  The title of the movie was Ranger Nick.  Remember young Eric Weld?  I fucked the bejeezus out of him in the camping scene.

N:  What’s your secret?  I’m always telling the newbies that they have to love what they do.  Do you think I’m right?

M:  I guess if a person wants to get where I have gotten in the little time it took.  Then, yes, you have to love what you do.  I work 12 + hours every day of every week, of every month, of the past 5 years.   I love what I do to the very core!  

I’m a huge fan of people.  I love them.  Monster has opened many doors for me.  I’ve opened many doors for him.  Monster and I working in cahoots with one another has allowed us to travel the world.  In that process, I have fucked, um, I mean, met so many wonderful people!  

N:  Speaking of kids I bet a lot of them don’t know that you use to be a Self Sucker.

Yes, my home is kept quite clean and organized.  I really love it.  I live modestly.  My place is made UP of antiques from several neighborhood stores around the country.  The furniture instills a less hectic world.  I open the door to such a peaceful, serene feeling.  Instantly feel the slower energy peel away the hectic energy of my every day life.  Besides, I need to have my surroundings clean and organized.  My head isn’t such a pretty place to be at times.  OK, OK, MOST times. 

N:  Speaking of home, I understand that you’ve FOUND THE MAN !!!!  Congratulations!  Tell me all about it.  C’mon dish!  I want to know where you met.  How long have you two been dating?  When did you know HE WAS THE ONE!!!??? What is he like?  I also heard that he just relocated and moved in.  I can just die!!!  That’s so, so wonderful.

M:  His name is Marcos.  August 21, 2004, Los Angeles, Sunset Junction Street Fair, is where I met the love of my life.  While signing autographs and carrying on like Monster has a habit of doing.  A beautiful lip stick lesbian saw me from the street.  Began walking, pointing her finger at me.  She was saying, “I know who you are.” I have to be honest with you Ron.  I became a bit worried.  My mind started racing.  I started stepping back. N:  So, this wonderful man has stepped into your life.  Have you made any changes in your career because of the relationship?

M:  Hmmm, well, be true to who you are.  Be true to what you are wanting in a man.  There are so many wonderful people in the world.  Don’t look so hard that you come across desperate. You may scare off a good man with your desperation.  Give the relationship a chance to grow on it’s own.  Most of all be willing to feel hurt.  Love hurts at times.  Be willing to compromise at times.  A person will need to take chances with his heart. 

N:  Hey, how is Monster doing?  I will never forget the look on my ex, Tony's face when he first saw and touched Monster at a premiere at the Tom Kat theatre in West Hollywood. I had to wave my hand in front of Tony’s face to bring him back on Earth.  I still tease him about that today.

M:  Monster is doing very well.  He wants me to thank you for asking.  We have a new movie about to hit the market, Hard as Wood is the title.  You will read more about it in the next question.  <wink>

N:  What type of music do you like?  What’s your all-time favorite CD? 

M:  My all time favorite CD?  Jeez, I don’t know that I have one.  I like a variety of music.  Depends on the mood I am in.  My poor head goes a mile a minute.  So the head banging stuff doesn’t bode well with me.

M:  Well, having evolved as I have.  I would have to say business partner and friend, Chris Ward, President and founder of Raging Stallion Studios, has been a heavy influence on my career.  Co founder of Raging Stallion, JD Slater, has also played an important role.  At the same time, for the genius marketing person that he/she is, Chi Chi La Rue has inspired me to no end.
